Rameswaram
Both a Jyotirlinga and one of the Char Dham — sacred to Shiva and to Rama. The Ramanathaswamy temple has one of the longest temple corridors in India.
In the tradition
[Traditional account]
Rama worshipped Shiva here, with a linga made of sand by Sita and another brought by Hanuman from Kailasa. Tradition calls the shoal chain to Sri Lanka Rama Setu (Adam's Bridge).
