What is a shubh muhurat? A stretch of time when the nakshatra, tithi and weekday all favour a particular ceremony, with the inauspicious yogas, karanas and seasons left out. Below are the general dates for the ceremonies families ask us about most.

How these dates are worked out

  • Every date is worked out from the panchang with the same astronomy as the Stuti Mandir Panchang: tithi from the Moon–Sun angle, nakshatra and yoga from their sidereal (Lahiri) longitudes, and the weekday from sunrise.
  • A window opens only while the ceremony’s nakshatra, tithi and weekday are all favourable together, and closes at the first change that breaks one of them. Vishti (Bhadra) karana, the Vyatipata and Vaidhriti yogas and nakshatra gandanta are always left out.
  • Times are IST. Tithi and nakshatra change at the same moment everywhere in India, so the windows hold nationwide; the weekday is taken from sunrise at Bengaluru, which can move the edge of a window that starts before dawn by a few minutes in your city.
  • These are general (panchang shuddhi) dates. The pandit then checks the family’s tarabala and chandrabala and fixes the lagna inside the window — which is why the same date can suit one family better than another.

Questions devotees ask us

Which months have no marriage or griha pravesh muhurat in 2026–2027?

Chaturmas (24 Jul 2026 – 21 Nov 2026; 13 Jul 2027 – 10 Nov 2027) and Kharmas, when the Sun is in Dhanu or Meena, have none; nor do the weeks when Guru or Shukra is combust. The table above lists every such period.

Are these muhurats valid all over India?

Yes. Tithi and nakshatra change at the same instant everywhere and the times are in IST; only a window that begins before sunrise can move by a few minutes, because the weekday is taken from sunrise at Bengaluru.

Why do different panchangs show different dates?

Traditions differ on which tithis and weekdays to allow and how strictly to apply Kharmas, Holashtak and planetary combustion. Ours are on the cautious side, so a date shown here is one most pandits would accept; your pandit can confirm others.

How do I book a pandit for a muhurat?

Open the ceremony, tap a date and the booking opens with the muhurat filled in. Choose your address and pandit, see the full dakshina and pay online — or WhatsApp +91 90591 39258.
