Griha Pravesh Pooja in Daraganj, Prayagraj

The old ghat quarter on the Ganga, a short walk from the Sangam, where the Nagvasuki and Veni Madhav temples stand and many tirth purohits live.

Temples nearby: Nagvasuki Temple and Veni Madhav Temple.

Daraganj is about 2.1 km from the Triveni Sangam, so families often add a Sangam snan or tarpan on the same day.

Griha Pravesh (Gruhapravesam) is the ceremony of entering a new home for the first time at an auspicious muhurtham. It usually combines Ganapati pooja, punyahavachanam, Vastu Shanti, Navagraha pooja or homam and, in many families, a Satyanarayana Vratham.

• Purifies a new or renovated house before the family lives in it
• Pacifies vastu doshas and the nine planets
• Invites prosperity, health and peace into the home
• Begins life in the new home with the blessings of elders and the deities

• On a muhurtham fixed from the panchangam and the family’s nakshatras
• Most panchangams favour Vaishakha, Jyeshtha, Magha and Phalguna and avoid Ashadha and Bhadrapada
• Before moving in to a newly built or bought home
• When returning to a home after renovation or a long absence

Families in Daraganj book through Stuti Mandir every week. Verified pandits get bookings near home, the dakshina fixed before the day and paid on time, and choose their own days and travel distance. Pandits already with us refer others from their own family and parampara.
