About this puja
Navagraha Shanti Pooja propitiates the nine planets — Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu — when a horoscope shows afflictions such as Shani’s Sade Sati, Kuja dosha or a difficult dasha, and as part of housewarmings and weddings.
Each graha is invoked on its own place in a navagraha mandala, with its own grain, coloured cloth, flower and mantra. Worshipping all nine together restores balance when one or more planets are believed to be troubling the native.
