About Lakshmi Ganapathi Homam
About this puja
Ganapathi Homam is a fire ritual to Lord Ganesha, performed at the start of a new home, business, job or project to remove obstacles, and on Vinayaka Chavithi and Sankashti Chaturthi. The Lakshmi Ganapathi form also invokes Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity.
The pandit establishes the sacred fire and offers ahutis with the Ganapati moola mantra and the Ganapati Atharvasheersham, using the eight traditional offerings (ashtadravyam) — ghee, modakams, coconut, jaggery, sugarcane, flattened rice, sesame and banana.
